The newly launched Rogue City Hotels Group has revealed its next dynamic investment move.
According to press statements by the group, the brand’s first three hotels will be situated in the United Kingdom.
Two of the properties will be located in Scotland – with one in the Highlands and another in Glasgow. The third hotel will be opening in Cambridge. Recent reports name the Cambridge property as none other than the much coveted Hobson House on St Andrew’s Street in the centre of Cambridge.
Scottish Highland Hospitality
Boasting an estimated 57 rooms, this grade two listed property is currently undergoing a massive renovation. Developing it into a hotel will ensure the building is both restored to former glory and preserved. It will also be open to the public to enjoy. Other features that will attract guests as well as visitors will be a specialist ‘destination tea room’ – a project managed and created by the Dexter Moren Associates.
Meanwhile, in the Scottish Highlands, the Perthshire-based, stunning Dunalastair Hotel Suites, has also joined the Rogue portfolio. Formerly a Victorian hotel, it is located in the town of Kinloch Rannock. The stunning property has undergone a massive restoration as part of the acquisition – part of which is the very notable Edina’s – a fine dining restaurant.
A little further south and the third property selected for refurbishment by the Rogue Hotel Group, is The Wellington, Glasgow. This vibrant and bustling city has become a haven for new hospitality brands over the past few years. And The Wellington is no exception.
The historic building which boasts a large number of original features, was formerly a Georgian courthouse. This particular property will be an all-suite development, catering to the luxurious end of the hospitality market – but aiming to be affordable luxury for travellers.
New Hotel Management Brand
The Rogue Group is a new entity which was formed from Henley Homes and is the umbrella group’s new hotel management company. Founded by Nassar Khalil, who has more than two decades of hospitality property development experience, the brand aims to market affordable luxury to guests.
The properties will maintain their historic charm, but will experience a vital and contemporary revamp to their interiors. The group was co-founded by hotelier Nassar Khalil, who brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience, and aims to create a hotel portfolio that “champions affordable luxury” and combines historic architecture with a creative, modern design in a vibrant landscape.
Khalil, who was formerly COO for Royal Luxury Hotels, explains; “I co-founded Rogue City Hotel Group to disrupt the status quo in conventional hospitality.” He says that by providing an alternative luxury hotel brand, he will tap into a unique hospitality market.
He adds: “Our primary focus is to make design-led luxury accommodation and exceptional service accessible to all demographics through an affordable pricing policy. The ethos and philosophy of Rogue City Hotel Group is one of transparency, exceptional service and a consumer experience that embraces the locations of our properties.”
